Lesson Plan
This course unit will introduce you and your classmates to civil disobedience and nonviolent direct action.
As you gain insight into this subject, you will be preparing yourselves to take part in a teach-in, which will be hosted by your university. Your responsibilities will include exploring the use of nonviolent direct action in various causes : women's and minority rights, animal rights, environmental activism, economic justice, government accountability, and youth and education. The research that you conduct on this will be the basis of the panel discussion of the teach-in.
The course sequence is in four 1-hour sessions, designed to guide you through the process :
Session 1 : discover civil disobedience
